Ted Ravens Bio
Ted Ravens was born in Okinawa, Japan, and lived there shortly. Since then, Ted has lived in Reading, Massachusetts and is a Senior at Reading Memorial High School graduating in Spring of 2026. Ted plans to pursue a career in finance, with a particular interest in investment banking.
Ted co-founded the RMHS Investing Club in 2023 to address the widespread lack of financial literacy among high school and middle school students and spark early interest in investing among his classmates. As co-founder, Ted takes a hands-on leadership role in shaping the club. He actively develops the club’s financial literacy curriculum and presentations, and presents the financial literacy curriculum to students at the high school, middle school, and within the broader Reading community, while also writing proposals to expand the reach of the club. Ted also built and manages the club’s website, TikTok, and YouTube channels, using digital platforms to expand the club’s reach and make financial concepts more engaging for his peers.
At RMHS, Ted has taken on many other leadership roles to positively impact his community. Ted is the Vice President of Reading's DECA chapter in charge of School Based Enterprise, where he will manage the school's store and bank account. Ted competed in the Franchise Business Plan event and represented Reading at the Massachusetts DECA State Conference. Furthermore, Ted is a Rocket Ambassador, mentoring the incoming high school class and helps them navigate life as a new high school student. In addition, Ted serves as the Co-President of Wings Initiative, a clothing donation club where he helps lead in organizing donation drives across the Reading community. To date, the club has collected and donated over 7,000 items to support those in need.
Outside the classroom, Ted is a dedicated soccer player and leader on the field. He plays for Reading Memorial High School’s varsity soccer team and serves as captain of his club team.
Each summer, Ted volunteers at a local youth soccer camp to give back to the Reading community, helping kids build confidence, skills, and a passion for the game he has. Through years of competitive play and service, he’s developed a strong work ethic, and a deep commitment to teamwork and community.
